Shawn Jurek Mastering is committed to the independent artist. For too long, independent artists have wanted their sonic voice to stand out along side industry professionals, but purely because of cost, were unable to achieve this.

The boom of the ‘do it yourself’ and small studio approach to recording and mixing has now made it possible for artists to produce a great sound for their records for very little cost. Knowing the right person with the right equipment (but hey, let’s face it… you can rent decent stuff these days) can get you a very good sounding album.

In taking this approach, however, one thing will always be missing: that ultimate ‘industry’ sound, and one that only a mastering engineer can achieve. The ears and expertise of the mastering engineer are specifically geared towards that final polish… that extra bit of brilliance to maximize the sonic potential of the music, helping to realize the full scope of the artist’s vision. Though it can be easy and inexpensive these days to produce an album, mastering will always remain the last but very necessary step in album production. As mastering is such a specialized service, to get it properly done for a small budget can still be an arduous task.
