Shawn’s passion for sound evolved from his own experiences being an artist. From the early days in the studio recording with his first band, he immediately found himself captivated with audio production… an interest that has remained with him for over 14 years.

During this time Shawn has had the great privilege of meeting, working with and being mentored by many highly respected Canadian industry professionals, including renowned mastering engineers Joao Carvalho, Noah Mintz and Phil Demetro. Studying with them and working in their facilities, Shawn gained the confidence and skill-set he needed to venture into this field himself.

In 2008, after some freelance work at Toronto’s renowned Lacquer Channel, Shawn founded Shawn Jurek Mastering.

Being an independent musician himself, Shawn understands the challenges in trying to realize a creative vision. He knows first hand that the range of needs can be long, and any help along the way is always well appreciated.

With Shawn Jurek Mastering, Shawn hopes to make it easier by making a professional sounding product just a little more accessible.
